Digital Solutions as an Emerging Trend in Contaminated Sites Management

Digital solutions have become prevalent in every aspect of our lives.  We rely on our mobile devices to pay our bills or to be confident that our online purchases will arrive on time.  With the power of these digital tools, why does the environmental industry continue to rely on paper chains of custody to ensure the integrity, validity and at times, legal defensibility of their laboratory data?  Through a review of more than 60,000 laboratory submissions Bureau Veritas has shown that more than 15% of submissions are delayed or affected by an administrative error on the paper chain of custody that can be eliminated through the use of a digital tool, improving submission quality and reducing risk.
