FastLane Proposal Preparation and Submission Functionality
FastLane proposal preparation and submission functions in the Proposals, Awards and Status module and the Research Administration module were fully decommissioned on September 30, 2023. This comes twenty-nine years since FastLane proposal functionality was first implemented and five years of operating in parallel with Research.gov proposal functionality. All NSF proposals must be submitted in Research.gov or Grants.gov in accordance with the instructions for a specific funding opportunity.
FastLane Panelist and Proposal Review Functions
The new Proposal Evaluation System (PES) will replace the FastLane Interactive Panel System (IPS) module in FY 2024. Dates for transitioning other panelist and proposal review functions will be added to the FastLane Functionality Transition Deadlines table below when available. Please bookmark this page and check back for updates.

Accessing FastLane Submitted Letters of Intent, Proposals, and Supplemental Funding Requests
FastLane submitted and in-progress letters of intent, proposals, and supplemental funding requests were accessible in FastLane through September 29, 2023. These included proposals submitted to NSF via Grants.gov on or before November 18, 2022. FastLane submitted and in-progress letters of intent, proposals, and supplemental funding requests were not transferred to Research.gov; however, the reviews and summaries for proposals submitted in FastLane will remain available in Research.gov.
Letters of intent and proposals submitted in FastLane may be available through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to foia@nsf.gov. Please visit the NSF FOIA page and the NSF Grant and Cooperative Agreement Program Management General Records Schedule for more information.
